Vallie Barlow

   Vallie Barlow, 75, 248 Big Cove Creek Road, Roan Mountain, died 
Wednesday, January 5, 2000, at Cannon Memorial Hospital, Linville, N.C.
   Mrs. Barlow was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late 
Dave and Lillie Barnett Henson. She was also preceded in death by her 
husband, Grady Barlow, January 3, 2000, two brothers, Pierce Henson and Ford 
Henson, and a grandson, Anthony Dunn.
   Mrs. Barlow was of the Baptist faith.
   Survivors include a daughter, Wilma Dunn, Roan Mountain; four sons and 
four daughters-in-law, Roy and Susie Barlow, Deep Gap, N.C., Glen and Ann 
Barlow, Ben and Hester Barlow and Jack and Pat Barlow, all of Roan Mountain; 
two sisters and a brother-in-law, Edith Gouge and Mae and Denver Garland, 
all of Roan Mountain; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bruce Henson and 
Herman and June Henson, all of Roan Mountain. Six grandchildren and several 
nieces and nephews also survive.

   BARLOW -- Funeral services for Vallie Barlow, 75, 248 Big Cove Creek Road, 
Roan Mountain, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday at Cove 
Creek Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dan Blevins and Rev. Mark Birchfield 
officiating. Joint graveside services for Vallie and Grady Barlow will be 
conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Barlow Family Cemetery, Roan Mountain. 
Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary 
pallbearer will be Clarence Barnett. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 
1:55 p.m. Saturday for the graveside services. The family will receive friends 
from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Cove Creek Presbyterian Church. Friends may call 
at the residence any time. For those who prefer, memorials in lieu of flowers 
may be made to the Carter County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 682, Elizabethton,
