Barnett 07/23/99 Amanda E. Greene Barnett, 78, 1206 W. Main Street, Johnson City, died Wednesday, July 21, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Barnett was a native of Carter County and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Hobart Gary and Eva Williams Pierce and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Robert Greene, a brother and a sister. Mrs. Barnett was a Baptist. Survivors include her husband, Garfield Barnett; a daughter, Shirley Calloway, Johnson City; four sons, Kenneth Greene, Robert Greene, Edward Greene and Earl Greene, all of Johnson City; and four brothers, Ray Pierce, Jonesborough, Carl Pierce, Bluff City, Lloyd Pierce and Jerry Pierce, both of Piney Flats. Twenty grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, (423) 282-1521, is in charge of arrangements. BARNETT -- Funeral services for Amanda E. Greene Barnett, 78, 1206 W. Main Street, Johnson City, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday from the Morris-Baker South Chapel with Rev. Scott Greene and Rev. David Hutchins officiating. Interment will follow at Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 12 noon until 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Morris- Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, is in charge of arrangements.
