DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. -- Mrs. Carolyn Jane Baxter, 64, of Douglasville, 
died Tuesday, November 16, 2004.

Mrs. Baxter was born March 27, 1940 in Elizabethton, Tenn. She was 
the daughter of the late David and Avis Shields.

Mrs. Baxter was a secretary with Mead Corporation and a member of 
First Baptist Church of Douglasville. She was well known for her card 
ministry to everyone including the shut-ins, remembering their birthdays, 
anniversaries, illnesses, and just thinking of you.

Survivors include her husband, Ron Baxter, Douglasville; two sons and 
daughters-in-law, Tom and Vanessa Williams, Jefferson City, Tenn., and 
Joe and Betty Williams, Cohutta; grandchildren, Chris Altrichter, 
Stockbridge, Jennifer Williams, Johnson City, Tenn., Susan Williams and 
David Williams, both of Cohutta, Ga., and Madisun Williams, Johnson City, 
Tenn.; and two brothers and a sister-in-law, Bob and Kathy Shields, 
Littleton, Colo., and David Shields, Elizabethton, Tenn. Several nieces 
and nephews also survive.

The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, at 
Whitley-Garner at Rosehaven Funeral Home, Douglasville. The memorial 
service will follow at 2 p.m. in the Rosehaven Chapel with Dr. John 
Pennington officiating.
