CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Ada P. Bays, 12 Oct 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Mrs. Ada P. Bays, Mountcastle Drive, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord Tuesday, October 12, 2004, in the Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Bays was a native of Old Butler and had lived in Johnson City for the past 67 years. She was a daughter of the late Alvin and Crettie Whaley Holloway. She was also preceded in death by her husband, N.M. Bays Sr. in 1990, and by two sisters and three brothers. Mrs. Bays was a graduate of Science Hill High School. She was a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and the Ladies Sunday school class. Mrs. Bays was a homemaker and businesswoman. She and her late husband organized Bays Electronics and were involved with real estate. Survivors include a son, N.M. "Bill" Bays Jr., and wife Pam, of Johnson City; one sister, Goldia Gregg, of Gray; two grandchildren, Nathan Bays and Mary Bays; and several nieces and nephews. The funeral service for Mrs. Ada P. Bays will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, October 15, 2004 in the Mountain View Baptist Church with Rev. James Cambron and Rev. Lanny Street officiating. Interment will follow at Monte Vista Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Dewayne Hayes, Claude Luttrell, Don Lloyd, Jim Berry, Mike Berry, Jim Hankal and Dave Pollock. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday. Friends may also call at the residence. Mrs. Bays will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Friday to lie in state until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Mountain View Baptist Church, 4005 Bristol Highway, Johnson City, TN 37601.
