CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Helen W. Bennett, 10 Nov 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Mrs. Helen W. Bennett, 79, died Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton, after several months' illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Fred W. and Gertrude C. Tolley Wilson. She was a life long member of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church. She was a healthcare giver and retired employee of Bemberg Corporation. She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie C. Bennett, 1980; a grandson, Brian Keith Estep, Sr., and two brothers, Ralph Wilson and Ed Wilson. Survivors include a daughter, Joan Claudia Estep, Greeneville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnnie Joe and Colleen Bennett, Charlottesville, Va.; Tony C. and Susie Bennett, Jonesborough; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa Gail and Curtis Cannon, Watauga; two sisters and one brother-in-law, LouElla and LeRoy Stockton, Roan Mountain; Earlene Montgomery, Hampton; nine grandchildren, Holly Hess and spouse, Peter; Todd Estep, Melissa White, and spouse, Roger, Chris Cannon, Johnathan Bennett, Joshua DuVall and spouse, Misty, Johnnie DuVall, Jamie Newton and Jennifer Wallin; six great-grandchildren, Brian Keith Estep, Jr., Brianna Nicole Estep, Rylan Hunter White, Lucus McKinney White, Chase J. Newton and Madison Taylor Wallin. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A heartfelt special thanks to her nurses at Ivy Hall Nursing Home, James, Little Judy, Kathy, Faith, Marty. Joseph, Whitney and Amanda. Thanks to her special friend and care giver, Wanda Lunceford. The funeral service will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2004 at Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace with Rev. Mark Street and Rev. Richard Sheppard officiating. Music will be under the direction of The Cook Family. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the funeral service or friends may also call at the residence of a daughter, Teresa Cannon, 174 Maple Tree Lane, Watauga, any time. The graveside service and burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, November 15, 2004 at V.A. Mountain Home National Cemetery, Mountain Home. Active pallbearers will be Tony Bennett, Johnnie Bennett, Todd Estep, Johnathan Bennett, Joshua DuVall, Johnnie DuVall, Curtis Cannon, Freddie Montgomery, Chris Cannon, Randy Montgomery and Ricky Montgomery. Honorary pallbearers will be LeRoy Stockton, Robbie Tolley, David Tolley, Scotty Montgomery, Joey Montgomery, Jamie Norris, Jonathan Townsend, Darrell Ward, Glen Estep, Roger Wilson, Benny Stoots, Brian Keith Estep, Jr., and James Hughes, Dr. Robert Allen, Dr. Holland Morelock and Staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home chapel at 9 a.m. on Monday, November 15 to go in procession to the cemetery.
