Berry Sarah Eliza Berry, 79, formerly of 259 Berry Hill Road, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Berry was a resident of Hermitage Care Center, Elizabethton. She was the daughter of the late Daniel and Molly Bowers Buckles and was also preceded in death by her husband, Hunter C. Berry, who died July 7, 1978, and by three grandchildren, a sister and two brothers. Mrs. Berry was a member of Willow Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Clarence and Sherry Berry, Ernest and Marie Berry and Gary and Linda Berry, all of Elizabethton; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cleadith and Buford Cole and Charlotte and Kermith Canter, all of Elizabethton, and Wanda and Roy Cole, Bakersville, Ore.; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Betty Berry Richardson, Elizabethton; and a special friend, Sharon Bowers, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick BERRY -- Funeral services for Sarah Eliza Berry, 79, formerly of 259 Berry Hill Road, Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, May 31, 2000, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, June 2, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Rev. Clarence Stanfield and Rev. Bobby Stout officiating. Music will be under the direction of Hunter Berry, violinist. Interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 3, at Buckles Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Walter, Dr. Robert Blacky, the Staff and Residents of Hermitage Care Center, Brice Robinson, Gurney Pierce, Jimmy Blevins, Dallas Pierce, Arthur Collins, Eugene Buckles and Ivan Morley. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter, Cleadith Cole, 133 Arrow Drive, Elizabethton, any time.
