Mr. Charles H. Berry

Mr. Charles H. Berry, age 87, of Ontario Drive, Elizabethton, died 
unexpectedly Thursday, February 27, 2003, at his residence.
He was a native of Virginia and a resident of Carter County for most of 
his life. He was the son of the late Howard and Tima Craig Berry. He was 
a member of the Sinking Creek Baptist Church.
Mr. Berry was retired from the guard force at North American Rayon 
Corporation. He was a member of the Elizabethton Wal-Mart Coffee Club. 
He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, 
Mrs. Emmalee Proffitt Berry, of the home; two daughters and one son-in 
law, Sondra Lee Berry, of Jonesborough, and Debra Ann and Troy Scalf of 
Elizabethton; four grandchildren, Joseph Michael Buck and Lora Lee Buck, 
both of Johnson City, and Ashley Nicole Scalf and Cory Brett Scalf of 
Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

BERRY -- The funeral service for Mr. Charles H. Berry, 87, of Ontario 
Drive, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, February 27, 2003, at his residence, 
will be conducted Saturday, March 1, 2003, at 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Peace 
at Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Reece Harris officiating. The graveside 
service and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2003, 
at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from 
family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Sinking Creek 
Baptist Church and members of the Elizabethton Wal-Mart Coffee Club. The 
family will receive friends Saturday, March 1, 2003, from 6 until 8 p.m. 
in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, or you may call at the 
residence, 502 Ontario Drive, at any time. Those who plan to attend the 
graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:15 p.m. Sunday
