Polly Blevins

  Mrs. Polly Blevins, 91, 231 Blevins Road, Roan Mountain, died Wednesday, 
February 16, 2000, at her residence following a short illness. 
  Mrs. Blevins was a native and lifelong resident of Carter County and a 
daughter of the late Jake and Mary Birchfield Chambers. She was also 
preceded in death by her husband, Dave Blevins, in 1988; a granddaughter, 
Betty Perkins; three brothers, John Chambers, Bill Chambers and Nath 
Chambers; and two sisters, Mary Blevins and Mayme Hilman. 
  Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Mandy and Dexter Perkins, 
of the home; two step-sons, Dillard Blevins, Hampton, and Clarence Blevins, 
Elizabethton; a sister, Edith Tolley, Piney Flats; two grandchildren, Keith 
Perkins, Roan Mountain, and Rachael White, Hampton; three step-grandchildren, 
Carter Blevins, Elizabethton, Christine Cordell and Clarence Blevins Jr., 
both of Hampton; two great-grandchildren, Julie White, Hampton, and Morgan 
Perkins, Roan Mountain; and two step-great-grandchildren, Sarah Blevins and 
Abigail Blevins, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 
  These arrangements entrusted to the Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home. 

  BLEVINS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Polly Blevins, 91, 231 Blevins Road, 
Roan Mountain, who died Wednesday, February 16, 2000, will be held at 8 p.m. 
Thursday, February 17, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with 
Rev. John Vance and Rev. Tommy Haynes officiating. Graveside services and 
interment will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, February 18, in the Hall Cemetery 
on Tiger Creek. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Townsend, Jim "Curt" 
Chambers, E.J. Blevins, Robert Blevins, Allen Beaver, Dean Tolley and Lloyd 
Kinley. Honorary pallbearers will be Al Gordon, D.L. Chambers, Richard 
Highsmith, Bill Highsmith and Donnie Laws. Everyone will meet at the 
funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Friday to go to the cemetery. The family will 
receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, prior to 
the service. Friends may call at the residence any time. These arrangements 
entrusted to the Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home.
