CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Ruth Greene Blevins, 11 May 2004

Ruth Greene Blevins, 96, Hermitage Health Center, formerly of 
Main St., Elizabethton, died Tuesday, May 11, 2004 at Sycamore 
Shoals Hospital. 

A native of Avery County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of 
the late William Augustus and Clara Jones Greene.
 
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Elizabethton. 

She was a homemaker and skilled seamstress. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Houston Blevins; two 
infant children, and two sons-in-law, Rev. Thomas B. Welch and Wayne 
Campbell. 

Survivors include four daughters and one son-in-law, Audrey Welch, 
Columbia, S.C.; Mildred Rash, Winston-Salem, N.C.; Joyce and N.T. 
Campbell, Chattanooga, and Joan Campbell, Elizabethton; one son, 
Wayne Houston Blevins, Blountville; 14 grandchildren; 11 great- 
grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild, several nieces and nephews. 

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, May 13, 
2004 in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, 
with Rev. Brent Seals officiating. Music will be under the direction 
of Roger Jenkins, soloist, and June Gouge, pianist. The burial will 
follow the funeral service at Highland Cemetery. Active pallbearers 
will be grandsons and great-grandsons and N.T. Campbell. Friends may 
call at the funeral home chapel at their convenience or friends may 
call at the residence, 210 S. Main St., Elizabethton, any time. Online
