CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Wiley H. "Jake" Blevins, 3 Oct 2004

Mr. Wiley H. "Jake" Blevins, 77, of Golf Course Dr., Elizabethton, 
died Sunday, October 3, 2004 at the Life Care Center of Elizabethton 
following a brief illness.
Mr. Blevins was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Wiley 
H. Blevins, Sr. and Winnie Smalling Blevins.
 He was a World War II Army veteran. 
He was a former employee of Tennessee Valley Authority and the Raytheon 
Company, and retired from Happy Valley Memorial Park. 
He was of the Methodist faith. 
He was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Dale.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Feathers Blevins, of the home; one 
daughter, Becky Blevins, Fall Branch; one nephew, Ralph Dale, Landover 
Hills, Md.; a special cousin, Charles Haynes, of Elizabethton; special 
friends, Rhonda Becker and Wayne Painter and his beloved Collie dog, 
Pat.
A graveside service for Wiley H. "Jake" Blevins will be conducted at 
10 a.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2004 in Happpy Valley Memorial Park with 
Mr. Stephen Payne, minister, officiating. Everyone will meet at the 
cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Wednesday for the graveside service. Honorary 
pallbearers will be Wayne Painter, Joe Haynes, Ed Bailey, Earl Grindstaff, 
James Carroll, Dr. Robert Walter, Danny King, Bill Chamberlin, Clyde 
Broyles and Jim Jones. To those who desire, memorials may be made to the 
Carter County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 776, Elizabethton, TN 37644 or the 
Carter County Humane Society, 159 Hickory Hollow Road, Elizabethton, TN 
37643. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, October 
5, 2004 in the Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home. Online condolences may be sent
