Wayne H. Blevins

Wayne Houston Blevins, 71, Ridgecrest Manor, Duffield, Va., died 
Monday, October 11, 2004, in Duffield, Va., following an extended 
illness.

Mr. Blevins was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Rev. 
Houston and Ruth Greene Blevins.

Mr. Blevins was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and the University 
of Tennessee. He was a field director with the American Red Cross and 
was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was attached to the 
U.S. Army in Vietnam with the American Red Cross.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Wayne and Deanna 
Blevins, Fairfax, Va.; a daughter, Vivian May Blevins, Silver Springs, 
Md.; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Audrey Blevins Welch, Columbia, 
S.C., Mildred Blevins Rash, Winston-Salem, N.C., Joan Blevins Campbell, 
Elizabethton, and Joyce Blevins Campbell and N.T. Campbell, Chattanooga. 
Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday, 
October 15, in the Highland Cemetery with Rev. Brent Seals officiating. 
Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family 
will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home from 2:30 to 3:30 
p.m. Friday. Friends may also call at the residence of the late Rev. 
Houston and Ruth Blevins, 210 South Main Street, Elizabethton, any time 
on Thursday or Friday. Online condolences may be sent to the family
