CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Wayne Houston Blevins, 11 Oct 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Wayne H. Blevins Wayne Houston Blevins, 71, Ridgecrest Manor, Duffield, Va., died Monday, October 11, 2004, in Duffield, Va., following an extended illness. Mr. Blevins was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Rev. Houston and Ruth Greene Blevins. Mr. Blevins was a graduate of Elizabethton High School and the University of Tennessee. He was a field director with the American Red Cross and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He was attached to the U.S. Army in Vietnam with the American Red Cross. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald Wayne and Deanna Blevins, Fairfax, Va.; a daughter, Vivian May Blevins, Silver Springs, Md.; three sisters and a brother-in-law, Audrey Blevins Welch, Columbia, S.C., Mildred Blevins Rash, Winston-Salem, N.C., Joan Blevins Campbell, Elizabethton, and Joyce Blevins Campbell and N.T. Campbell, Chattanooga. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Friday, October 15, in the Highland Cemetery with Rev. Brent Seals officiating. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. Friday. Friends may also call at the residence of the late Rev. Houston and Ruth Blevins, 210 South Main Street, Elizabethton, any time on Thursday or Friday.
