Blackwell Nancy Pauline Blackwell, 78, 612 Buck Mountain Road, Roan Mountain, died Monday, July 31, 2000, at Roan Highlands Nursing Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Blackwell was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Dave and Mary Ashley Ledford. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Coburn Jack Blackwell, August 30, 1985, and a sister, Nellie Elliott. Mrs. Blackwell was a member of High Point Missionary Baptist Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Jericho Shriners. She was a former employee of Elizabethton Glass Company. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Billie and Ralph Troutman, Elizabethton; three sons and daughters-in-law, David and Wilma Blackwell, Elizabethton, Coburn Jack and Patsy Blackwell and Robert and Brenda Blackwell, all of Roan Mountain; five grandchildren, Danny Troutman, Elizabethton, Chris Troutman, Arlington, Va., Brent Blackwell, Elizabethton, Christie Johnson, Roan Mountain, Keith Blackwell, Roan Mountain, and Timothy Blackwell, Roan Mountain; two sisters, Ethel Phillips, Chattanooga, and Anna Belle Pickens of Florida; four great-grandchildren; two very special friends, Fred Potter and Harold Hicks, both of Elizabethton; and two special nephews, Carl Briggs, Plant City, Fla., and Bob Briggs, Freeport, Fla. Several other nephews and nieces also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick BLACKWELL -- Graveside services for Nancy Pauline Blackwell, 78, 612 Buck Mountain Road, Roan Mountain, who died Monday, July 31, 2000, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday, August 2, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Jim Storie officiating. Active pallbearers will be Fred Potter, Harold Hicks, Bill Miller, Charles McKinney, Neil Johnson and Ed Birchfield. Honorary pallbearers will be Brent Blackwell, Keith Blackwell, Danny Troutman, Scott Potter, Andy Potter, Rhudy Oaks, R.A. Burleson, Bob Burleson, Jug Church, Gene Mosley, Bill Campbell, Robert Williams, Ray Greer, Butch Johnson, Ance Johnson, J.L. Blackwell, C.J. Blackwell, Elmer Blackwell, Elzy Caraway, Ralph Potter, Fred Smith and Richard Hopson. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends at the residence, 612 Buck Mountain Road, Roan Mountain, from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Friends may call at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, at any time.
