Mr. Bowers was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Pettibone and Sally Berry Bowers. Mr. Bowers was retired from North American Rayon Corporation and was a member of Hunter United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mary Calloway Bowers, of the home; a son, Lewis Bowers, Elizabethton; a sister, Ethel Bowers, Life Care Center of Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Diana Strano, Elizabethton; and a great- grandson, Jason Winter, Elizabethton. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick BOWERS -- Graveside services for Crawford Bowers, 88, 134 Arrow Drive, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, June 11, 2000, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. Herman Crumley, Rev. Benny Huguley and Rev. Dave Shorter officiating. Active pallbearers will be Billy Ray Davis, Dexter Ward, Snyder Nave, Carl Bowers, Terry Dalton, Jerry Gouge, Wesley Grindstaff and Howard Stansberry. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Eugene Galloway, Dr. Scott Caudill, Fonce Williams, Harold Hicks, Cecil Davidson, Trent Foutch, Sergus Cole, Donald Bowers and Fred Bowers. A special thanks to Hospice. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence, 134 Arrow Drive, Elizabethton, any time.
