Robert L. Bowers

Robert L. Bowers, 82, 1120 Cedar Street, Elizabethton, died Monday, 
October 14, 2002, at his residence following an extended illness.
Mr. Bowers was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Joseph 
and Bessie Manning Bowers. He was also preceded in death by a brother 
and a grandson.
Mr. Bowers was retired from East Tennessee Chair Company. He was a U.S. 
Marine Corps veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Yzettia Estep Bowers, of the home; two sons 
and a daughter-in-law, Roy and Katie Bowers, Petersburg, Va., and Tyrone 
owers, Elizabethton; and a daughter, Yvonne Bowers, of the home. Nine 
grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.

BOWERS -- Graveside services for Robert L. Bowers, 82, 1120 Cedar Street, 
Elizabethton, who died Monday, October 14, 2002, will be conducted at 10 
a.m. Thursday, October 17, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. 
Military Honors will be accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post 
No. 2166. Active pallbearers will be Pat Roper, Rick Triplet, George 
Stover, Buddy Ward Jr., Buddy Ward Sr. and David Blevins. Honorary 
pallbearers will be Dr. David Fenner, Dr. Robert Walter, Lowell Estep 
and Lindberg Estep. The family will receive friends at Hathaway-Percy 
Funeral Home from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may also call at 
the residence, 1120 Cedar Street, Elizabethton, at any time. Everyone 
will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Thursday to go in procession
