CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Margaret Colbaugh Bowers, 22 Nov 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Margaret C. Bowers Margaret Colbaugh Bowers, 92, Pine Ridge Care Center, Elizabethton, died there Saturday, November 22, 2003. Mrs. Bowers was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Charles W. and Ella Aldridge Colbaugh. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Edith Feathers, and three brothers, Nat, Robert and Bill Colbaugh. Mrs. Bowers was a 1931 graduate of Elizabethton High School. She worked at the Bemberg Corporation for a number of years and retired as Manager of the Dollar General Store. She was a member of Hunter United Methodist Church and the Elizabethton Senior Citizens. Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Ola Clinton Bowers; a daughter, Lois M. Williams, Elizabethton; two sons, Ralph C. Bowers, Lansing, Mich., and Larry E. Bowers, Elizabethton; two sisters, Ella Jo Medearis, Elizabethton, and Betty J. Markland, Flint, Mich.; and five grandsons, Michael Bowers, Mark Bowers, Benjamin Bowers, Christopher Bowers and Todd Williams. Four great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Tuesday, November 25, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joseph Manis and the Rev. Estil Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be provided by Bill Medearis, Marilyn Bowers and Joel Street. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2:50 p.m. Tuesday, will be Earl Collins, Charles "Dude" LaPorte, Jerry Bowers, Daniel Holder, Hugh Buckles, Bill Cline, D.J. Townsend and Mike Williams. A special "Thank You" to Leonard Campbell, Nell Fair, Wilma Colbaugh, Bea Estep, Bea Gouge, Willa Cecil, Ann Schlamblin, Willie Church, Gary Elliott, Dr. Joseph C. May, Dr. Stephen May, the Staff of Pine Ridge Care Center and the Nursing Service Staff of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center.
