CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Yzettia Bowers, 19 Nov 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Yzettia Bowers Mrs. Yzettia "Granny" Bowers, 80, Cedar Street, Elizabethton, died unexpectedly Wednesday, November 19, 2003, Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Mrs. Bowers was a native of Wise County, Va., and the daughter of the late Campbell and Grace Cryder Estep. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Lee Bowers, October 14, 2002, and by a grandson and a sister. Mrs. Bowers was a homemaker and had also worked at the Franklin Club and as a beautician in the Hunter Community for several years. She was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy and Katie Bowers, Petersburg, Va., and Tyrone and Velma Bowers, Elizabethton; a daughter, Eleanor Bowers, of the home; and two brothers, Lindberg Estep and Lowell "Beno" Estep, both of Elizabethton. Nine grandchildren, 11 great- grandchildren and two great-great-granddaughters also survive. Graveside services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday, November 24, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery with the Rev. Roy Jenkins officiating. Active pallbearers will be Buddy Ward, Bud Ward, Kenneth Honeycutt, Jeff Estep, Jared Jilton, James Orton and George Stover. Honorary pallbearers will be David Blevins Sr., David Blevins Jr., Michael Bowers, Patrick Roper, Rick Tripplet, Beno Estep and Lindberg Estep. Friends may call at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home any time Sunday, November 23, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. Friends may also call at the residence, 1120 Cedar Street, Elizabethton, or at the residence of a son, Tyrone Bowers, Sugar Hollow Road, Elizabethton, at any time.
