Bowling 12/08/99 Clifford Taft Bowling, 91, 115 Freeman Lane, Gray, died Monday, December 6, 1999, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Bowling was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Melvin and Bessie Treadway Bowling. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Esther Bowling, two brothers and a sister. Mr. Bowling was of the Baptist faith. He was a retired research chemist. Survivors include a son, Melvin C. Bowling, Shiloh, Ga.; a daughter, Mildred Barker, Gray; two sisters, Mae Keller, Elizabethton, and Hildred Hensley, Bristol, Va.; and a brother, Floyd Bowling, Athens. Seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. BOWLING -- Graveside services for Clifford Taft Bowling, 91, 115 Freeman Lane, Gray, who died Monday, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Rev. John Olsen officiating. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Thursday for the graveside services.
