Braly Virginia Rose Blevins Braly, 84, 309 Church St., Hampton, died Friday, Feb. 8, 2002, in the Johnson City Medical Center. A Carter County native, she was a daughter of the late John and Martha Jane Johnson Blevins. Mrs. Braly was preceded in death by her husband, John H. Braly, Dec. 29, 1989. Mrs. Braly was in the first graduating class of Hampton High School, having graduated in 1937. She was a member of Valley Forge United Methodist Church. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Blanton, Littleton, Colo., two sons, John H. Braly, II, N. Augusta, S.C., and William J. Braly, Gray, two sisters, Mrs. Louise Hammitt and Mrs. Mary Alice Ward, both of Elizabethton, one brother, Korff W. Blevins, Erwin, three grandchildren, Michael V. Blanton, Kathryn Blanton Rickson and Elise N. Braly, two great-grandchildren, Zachary Thomas and Katherine Rickson, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. BRALY -- Funeral services for Virginia Rose Blevins Braly, 84, 309 Church St., Hampton, who died Friday, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Haskel Ingram officiating. Graveside service and interment will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in Happy Valley Memorial Park. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 12:50 p.m. Friday. Condolences may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
