CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Juanita "Granny" Bridgeman, 29 Oct 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Mrs. Juanita "Granny" Bridgeman, 90, formerly of Siam Road, Elizabethton, died Friday, October 29, 2004, at Hillview Health Care following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Bridgeman was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Landon and Martha Jones Buck. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Roy Davis and Lee Bridgeman, a son, Gerald Davis, who died in 1940, and by six brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Bridgeman was owner and operator of Lilly Market on North Main Street for several years. She was a member of Beck Mountain Baptist Church. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Jack Garrison, Elizabethton; two grandsons and their wives, Mark and Norma Garrison, Elizabethton, and Jeff and Leslie Garrison, Bristol; a granddaughter and her husband, Tina and Mark Miller, Hampton; three great-grandsons, Jacob Garrison, Elizabethton, and John and Dustin Miller, both of Hampton; and two great-granddaughters, Micah and Kalyn Garrison, both of Bristol. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Sunday, October 31, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Music will be under the direction of Rev. Ronnie Campbell. Graveside services and interment will be at 1 p.m. Monday, November 1, in the Keg Mottern Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Mark Garrison, Jeff Garrison, John Miller, Dustin Miller, Jody Combs and Jerry Bowers. Honorary pallbearers will be two special friends, Doyle and Faye Hendrix, a grandson-in-law, Mark Miller, members of Beck Mountain Baptist Church and the staff and residents of Hillview Health Care. To those who desire, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Helen Wilson, 209 S. Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, TN 37643. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. Friends may call at the residence of her daughter, Kay Garrison, 2697 Siam Road, Elizabethton, at any time.
