CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Dianne Morriss Brogden, 16 Oct 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Feb. 15, 1945 - Oct. 16, 2004 Dianne Morriss Brogden died on October 16, 2004, surrounded by her children. She was born in Elizabethton, Tenn., to Helen Morriss Wildasin and Mack Morriss. She attended Elizabethton High School, Wake Forest University and East Tennessee State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree. She had lived in Tacoma, Wash., since 1990, working as a grant writer and development director for several governmental, educational and non-profit organizations. She was an artist, a lifelong champion of the underprivileged, and a lover of animals. She is survived by her daughters, Laura Brogden, Port Angeles, Wash., and Susan Coleman, Auburn, Wash.; her son, Reid Brogden, Apex, N.C.; her grandchildren, Ciara, Gabriel, Cydney, Grace, Caroline and Samuel; her twin sister, Vivian Johnson, Johnson City; her brother, David M. Morriss, Springfield, Va.; an aunt, Emogene Thompson, Elizabethton; and a cousin, Carol Hart, Chestertown, Mass. Three nieces and three nephews also survive. Her life will be celebrated Saturday, November 6, at 2 p.m. at the Unity Church of Tacoma.
