Mrs. Brumitt was a native of Bessemer, Ala., but had lived in Carter County most of her life. She was the daughter of the late George and Mamie Carlton McGlashen and was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert A. Brumitt Jr., in 1978. Mrs. Brumitt was a homemaker and a member of the Tacoma Church of God, Johnson City. Survivors include a daughter, Betty DeLoach, Elizabethton; a son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Betty Brumitt, Johnson City; four grandchildren, Debbie Silva, Columbia, Tenn., Jeffrey Brumitt, Charlotte, N.C., Donna DeLoach, Elizabethton, and Bryan DeLoach, Gray. Four great-grandchildren also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, (423) 543-4917, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick BRUMITT -- Funeral services for Margaret Brumitt, 78, formerly of 2140 West G Street, Lot 31, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, February 11, 2001, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, February 13, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Wayne Absher and the Rev. John Shriver officiating. Music will be under the direction of Jeff Norris, soloist. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, at Roselawn Memory Gardens, Johnson City. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Jerry Gastineau, the Nursing Staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home, members of the Tacoma Church of God, friends and neighbors. Everyone will meet at the funeral home chapel at 10 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the home of her daughter, Betty DeLoach, 2140 West G Street, Lot 26, Elizabethton, at any time.
