A Carter County native, he was the son of the late Wheeler and Bonnie McKinney Buck. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carrie Johnson Buck, a son, Pete Michael Buck, and a daughter, Judy K. Buck. He was a member and Sunday school teacher of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church and was a retired school bus driver for the Carter County School System. Survivors include one son, Kenny Wayne Buck, Elk Park, N.C.; three sisters, Mozella Wallenfelsz, Front Royal, Va.; Francis McCurry, Newland, N.C.; and Frankie Hodge, Kansas City, Kan.; five brothers, Edward Buck, Vinton, Va.; Harvey Buck, Roan Mountain; Doot buck, Roan Mountain; Clark Buck, Newland, NC.; and Gene Buck, Roan Mountain; three grandsons, Adam Buck, Charlottesville, Va.; Jordan Buck, Elk Park, N.C.; and Logan Buck, Elk Park, N.C. Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, 423-542-2232, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.Com/Tetrick BUCK -- Funeral services for Pete Buck, 68, 181 Buck Creek Road, Roan Mountain, who died unexpectedly Thursday, Feb. 8, 2001, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, with the Revs. Ronnie Edwards and Richard Stevens officiating. He was a member and a faithful Sunday school teacher of Evergreen Free Will Baptist Church. Graveside services and interment will follow the service at W.H. Buck Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Bruce Buck, John Buck, Brad Buck, Sam Garrison, Mike Garrison, and Danny Miller. Honorary pallbearers will be Harold Hicks, Harold Pritchard, Leonard Garrison, Carl Garrison, John Richardson, and Doug Richardson. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, 2001, at Tetrick funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, or at the residence, 181 Buck Creek Road, Roan Mountain, any time.
