Buckles 11/10/99 Claude T. Buckles, 79, 147 Buckles Road, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, November 9, 1999, at his residence following a brief illness. Mr. Buckles was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Frank and Emma Buckles. He was also preceded in death by two half-sisters, Effie Danner and Pearl Buckles. Mr. Buckles was of the Baptist faith and attended Willow Springs Baptist Church. He was a retired heavy equipment operator. Survivors include his wife, Myrtle E. Buckles, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Gerald and Jane Buckles, Elizabethton; five brothers, Paul Buckles, Mt. Carmel, Eugene Buckles, Ivan Buckles, H.J. Buckles and Earl Buckles, all of Elizabethton; four sisters, Edith Buckles and Myrtle Pierce, both of Elizabethton, Margaret Garland, Casco, Mich., and Brenda Taylor, Johnson City; a half-brother, Clay Buckles, Elizabethton; a granddaughter and her husband, Paula and Gary Morrell, Elizabethton; and a special nephew, Dustin Buckles, Elizabethton. BUCKLES -- Funeral services for Claude T. Buckles, 79, 147 Buckles Road, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Rev. Doug Hardin officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Caldwell Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Doug Rasnick, Danny Hilbert, Clyde Buckles, Kelly Bowers, Shirley Bowers and Clint Buckles. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Myers, Ivan Morley, Shane Lowe, Darrell Whaley, Chris Estep, Terry Bowers, Hubert Lewis, Buddy Bowers, Tank Morrell, Mike Nidiffer, Bob Campbell, Mike Fletcher, nephews, close friends, and neighbors. A special "Thank You" to Christy Poole and Housecall Hospice Nurses. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:45 a.m. Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
