Wilma J. Buckles

Mrs. Wilma Juanita Buckles, 80, Broad Street, Elizabethton, died 
Thursday, February 20, 2003 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital following 
a lengthy illness.
A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late William Daniel 
and Belle Starr Campbell Elliott. She was a homemaker. 
Mrs. Buckles was a member of the Lynn Valley Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Buckles; one sister, 
Beryl Elliott; four brothers, Cleamon, Heywood, Vernon and Niles Elliott.
Survivors include one daughter, Teresa Buckles, Johnson City; one son and 
daughter-in-law, Ed and Shirley Buckles, Elizabethton; a grandson and his 
wife, Lance and Glenda Buckles, Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Tracy 
Buckles, Elizabethton, and one great grandson, Christopher Buckles, 
Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews, and a special cousin, Connie 
Elliott.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

BUCKLES -- Funeral services for Mrs. Wilma Juanita Buckles, 80, 
Broad Street, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, February 20, 2003, will 
be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, February 23, 2003 in Memorial Funeral 
Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Wilson and Rev. Burl Garland officiating. 
Entombment will be held in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial 
Park. Mr. William J. Greene will provide the music. Active pallbearers, 
who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 2:50 p.m. Sunday 
will be Rev. Jim Hawk, Richard Hardin, Lee Goodwin, Allen Goodwin, Patrick 
Roper, Jonathan Hardin, Mike Elliott and Tommy Elliott. Honorary 
pallbearers will be Carson Puckett, Earl Mitchell, Lewis Bowers, Haynes 
Elliott, John L. Bowers, Jay Frank Elliott, and Rev. Bob Reed. The family 
will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Friends 
may also call at the residence. Condolences to the Buckles family may be
