CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Azilee Buckles, 16 Sep 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Azilee Buckles, 79, formerly of Willow Springs Road, Elizabethton, died Thursday, September 16, 2004, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following an extended illness. Mrs. Buckles was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late James Orville and Dorcas Byers Nave. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Seymore Buckles, a son, Coy Buckles, a grandson, Tearle Buckles, and a sister, Shirley Nave. Mrs. Buckles was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. She had worked for Texas Instruments as an assembly worker. Survivors include one son, Philip Buckles, one granddaughter, Lamonica Pierce, and one grandson, Vincent Buckles, all of Elizabethton; three sisters, Arbee Johnson, Nashville, Ruble Campbell, Elizabethton, and Norma Miller, Kernersville, N.C.; three brothers, Thurman Nave and David Nave, both of Maryland, and Kenneth Nave, Elizabethton; two great- grandchildren, Tiffany Pierce and Cody Pierce, both of Elizabethton; and special friends, Lisa, Josh and Daniel Russell and Ethan Sparks Russell. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, September 17, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Burl Garland and Rev. Eric Eggers officiating. Music will be under the direction of Kenneth Miller. The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, September 18, in the Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Saturday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home or at other times at the residence of a nephew, Terry Buckles, 810 Willow Springs Road, Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be Curtis Buckles, Kent Buckles, Chris Lewis, Lyndon Nave, Billy Campbell, Bryan Nave, Scottie Miller, David Fletcher and Daniel Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be the men of Hunter First Baptist Church, Dr. Daniel Paul and the staffs of Life Care Center of Elizabethton and Sycamore Shoals Hospital.
