CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Dorothy L. Buckles, 29 Dec 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Dorothy L. Buckles, age 78, of Lake Drive, Johnson City, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, in Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Buckles was a native of Carter County, and was the daughter of the late Dock Nave and Alice Lewis Nave. Mrs. Buckles was a member of the Hunter First Baptist Church in Elizabethton. She had worked as a beautician and was a retired employee of T.P.I. She was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Lou McAlister and a brother, Jerry Wayne Nave. She was survived by her husband, J.N. Buckles of the home; two daughters, Deborah Harrison of Johnson City and Gail Buckles of Elizabethton; three sisters, Hildred Gardner, Wilma Hodge, and Margie Nave all of Johnson City; several nieces and nephews; a special niece, Sandy Carter of Johnson City; and a special friend, Terri Millsap of Kingsport. The funeral service for Dorothy L. Buckles, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 2, 2005, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Service of Johnson City with the Rev. Bill Greer officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Music will be under the direction of Jean Hawk, soloist; and Tom Anderson, pianist. The family received friends from 6-8 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 1, 2005, in the Sunrise Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Service or at the residence, Lake Drive, Johnson City, at any time. Active pallbearers who are asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. Sunday will be Jamie Buckles, David Wayne Carter, Wayne Hodge, Ernie Millsap, Craig Carter, and Donnie Mitchell. Honorary pallbearers will be El-Cid Wexler and David Carter.
