CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Walter T. Bullock, 2 Feb 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Walter T. Bullock Walter T. Bullock, 83, 114 Terrace Street, Elizabethton, died Sunday, February 2, 2003 in the Life Care Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Robert R. "Uncle Bob" and Nanny Estella Slagle Bullock. He was a retired employee of the Power House, North American Rayon Corporation. He was of the Baptist faith. Mr. Bullock was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a life time member of the V.F.W. Post 2166, and the Disabled American Veteran, Chapter 17, Elizabethton. He was a recipient of two purple hearts and five bronze stars. He was also a member of the Watauga Masonic Lodge #622. He was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Shouse. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Daniel K. and Doris Bullock, Hampton; one brother, Worley Bullock, of Kingsport, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. BULLOCK -- Funeral services for Walter T. Bullock, 83, 114 Terrace Street, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, February 2, 2003, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 4, 2003 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Mark Street officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 5, 2003 in the National Cemetery, Mountain Home. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday, will be Rick Lewis, Steve Lewis, Justin Lewis, Randy Marlow, Eldon White, Bobby Ward, and Terry Hodge. Honorary pallbearers will be Roger Lewis, Tony Bowers, Jerry Bowers, Orville Marlow, Earl Blevins, Harvey Shaffer, Ernest Elliott, and former employees of the Power House, North American Rayon Corporation. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at his residence. V.F.W. Post 2166 will conduct military graveside honors.
