Campbell Mrs. Alma Lee Campbell, 77, died Thursday, January 10, 2008, at Life Care Center of Gray following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, Tenn., she was the daughter of the late Jim and Hettie Clark Carver. Mrs. Campbell was a homemaker and a member of Fairview Freewill Baptist Church. She was a great lover of Big Band music and Elvis Presley. Mrs. Campbell loved her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry S. Campbell, a sister, Oleta Gouge, and two brothers, Ralph and Robert Carver. Survivors include two sons, Glenn Campbell, Kingsport, and Paul Shannon Campbell, Johnson City; a daughter, Patricia "Trish" Pike and her husband Robert, Black Mountain, N.C.; a brother, Frank Carver and his wife Evelyn, Johnson City; three sisters, Violet Carver, Elizabethton, Roxie Dempsey and her husband Edmond, Johnson City, and Lena Clark, Adrian, Mich.; three grandchildren, Brian Campbell, Michael Campbell and Tara Hazelwood; and a great-grandchild, Owen McNeely. Many nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service for Mrs. Campbell will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, January 13, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, prior to the funeral service. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, January 14, in the Mountain Home National Cemetery. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Monday.
