Zeake Clawson 





    Zeake Clawson, 83, formerly of Clawson Road, Butler, went to see his 

friend, Jesus, on Sunday, March 18, 2007, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. 





    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late John Fate and Sarah 

Elizabeth Hollyfield Clawson. 





    Mr. Clawson was of the Christian faith. 





    In addition to his parents, Mr. Clawson was preceded in death by six 

brothers, Jesse, Sam, Brownlow, Randolph, Monroe and Jack Clawson, and three 

sisters, Anna Mae Morgan, Lucinda Potter and Lytha Clawson. 





    Survivors include a sister, Ira Lee Clawson, Elizabethton; a sister-in-

law, Ella Mae Clawson, Elizabethton; a brother, Tommy Clawson, Mountain City; 

two special nieces, Sue Hicks and her husband Joe Hicks, Banner Elk, N.C., and 

Elaine Phillips, Flat Springs, N.C.; a great-niece, Peggy Hicks, Banner Elk, 

N.C.; many special friends at Pine Ridge Care Center; and special friends, 

Junior Trivette, Carl Cable, Joe Hicks and Willie Hicks. 





    The funeral service for Mr. Clawson will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, 

March 21, at Piney Grove Church of Christ with Rev. Clate W. Briggs Jr. 

officiating. Music will be under the direction of the church choir. Interment 

will follow the funeral service in the Clawson Cemetery. Mr. Clawson will be 

taken to Piney Grove Church of Christ at 3 p.m. Tuesday, where friends may 

call until the service hour. Active pallbearers will be Eddie Phillips, Herman 

Clawson, Leslie Morgan Jr., Leslie Morgan Sr., Allen Clawson and Wayne Morgan.
