CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Cordelia Adeline Cable, 31 Jul 2002 ----¤¤¤---- Cordelia A. Cable Mrs. Cordelia Adeline Cable, 85, 176 House of Prayer Road, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, at her residence. Mrs. Cable was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late William and Nora McCloud Baird. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chauncy C. Cable, November 21, 1997, a son, Charles Cecil Cable, and by eight brothers and sisters. Mrs. Cable was a member of the Elizabethton C Street Church of Christ. Survivors include four daughters and a son-in-law, Rosene and Stanley Watford, Greenwood, Fla., Betty Joyce King, Elizabethton, Frances Oxford, of the home, and Judy Abbott, Westland, Mich.; two sons and a daughter-in- law, Odell and Vickie Cable, Elizabethton, and Paul David Cable, Myrtle Beach, S.C.; and two brothers, Darnell Baird, Elizabethton, and Clyde Baird, High Point, N.C. Thirteen grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. CABLE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Cordelia Adeline Cable, 85, 176 House of Prayer Road, Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, July 31, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, August 1, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Benny Burns and Mr. Eddie Craft officiating. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, August 2, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Friday, will be Odell Cable, Clinton Watford, Randy King, Rick King, Dale Douwsma, Jeffery Hodge and Wayne Cable. Honorary pallbearers will be Greg Hodge, Colin Watford and Gail Gergenheimer. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence.
