Campbell Mrs. Ethel F. Smith Campbell, 77, 131 Mockingbird Lane, Hampton, died Tuesday, January 23, 2001, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Campbell was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Raud and Nellie Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Kyle Worley Campbell, in 1991, and a sister, Wilma Peters. Mrs. Campbell was a member of Fish Springs Baptist Church and attended Little Milligan Baptist Church. She was a homemaker. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Steve Campbell, of the home, and Keith and Phyllis Campbell, Butler; a daughter and son-in-law, Nelda and Douglas Hatley, Butler; a daughter, Patricia Campbell, Hampton, and her fiancé, Maurice Widener, Damascus, Va.; four sisters, Dove Maddox, Nashville, Helen Pearson, Elizabethton, Sadie Smith, Hampton, and June McEwen, Butler; three brothers-in-law, Charles "Dick" Peters, Elizabethton, Ralph McEwen, Butler, and Adorn Campbell, Hampton; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Goodwin, Hampton; two special grandsons, Charles K. Campbell and Mason K. Campbell, both of Butler; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Kay Blevins, Amanda Christman, Helen Smith, Thelma Vines, Barbara Matheson, Beulah Rainbolt, Shirley Sharpe, Ruby Hatley and Destamona Campbell. Smith Campbell, 77, 131 Mockingbird Lane, Hampton, who went to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 23, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday, January 26, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with the Rev. Nick Bradshaw and the Rev. Ronnie Campbell officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 27, in the Lakeview Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Howard Campbell, Paul Campbell, Dennis Campbell, Jason Davenport, Roland Reece, Terry Reece, Johnny Campbell, Steve McNeil, J.R. Campbell and Dean Lunceford. Honorary pallbearers will be Maynard Davenport, Herb Moody, David Jones, Pablo Terreros, Michelle Leduc, Brownie Preslor, Frank Presnell, Tom White, Homer Anderson, Joe Valentine, Grant Sharpe, Brown Hatley, Lee Vines, Harold Hatley, Lewis Ward and Danny Duffield. A special thanks to the Carter County Rescue Squad and House Call Health Care, staff and patients of Johnson County Dialysis Center, Dr. Angela May, Dr. Leslie Panus, Dr. Allison Jordan and Dr. Charles Cole. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Saturday. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
