Campbell Mrs. Mildred Buckles Campbell, 74, 366 Blue Springs Road, Elizabethton, died Monday, January 28, 2002, at Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. Mrs. Campbell was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late Toy William and Grace Myrtle Bullock Buckles. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Leon Shirley Campbell, in 1971; a son, Robert James Campbell; a daughter, Teresa Ann Campbell; and by two brothers and four sisters. Mrs. Campbell was retired from East Tennessee State University in the Housekeeping Department. She was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Edward P. Campbell, of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Van Kiger, Winston-Salem, N.C., and Debbie and Guy Holliman, Pleasant Shade, Tenn.; a brother, Paul Buckles, Bristol; two sisters, Virginia Perry and Alma O'Dell, both of Bluff City; four grandchildren, Mitchell Kerr, Roanoke, Va., Zachary Kiger, Winston-Salem, N.C., Dalis Holliman and Hayden Holliman, both of Pleasant Shade, Tenn.; and two great-grandchildren, Killian Kerr and Aislinn Kerr, both of Roanoke, Va. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Active pallbearers will be Robert Campbell, Wayne Campbell, Malcolm Danner, Allen Bishop, Danny Buchanan and Edward Buckles. Honorary pallbearer will be Sam Hampton. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. until 12 noon Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the graveside service.
