Carden William C. "Bill" Carden, 77, 407 Washington Avenue, Elizabethton, died Monday, August 28, 2000, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Carden was a native and lifelong resident of Carter County and the son of the late Dan S. and Naomi Moody Carden. He was also preceded in death by five brothers. Mr. Carden was a retired Supervisor with North American Rayon Corporation. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of World War II and a member of Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238. Survivors include his wife, Lela Baker Carden, of the home, and a sister, Jo Ann Carden Pearce, Hampton. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
