CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Clyde Allen Carden, 13 May 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Clyde A. Carden Clyde Allen Carden, 90, 203 B. South Hills Drive, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at his residence. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Charles and Maggie Nave Carden. He had lived a number of years in Cleveland, Ohio where he retired in 1975 from the Ford Motor Company. Mr. Carden owned and operated the Yellow Cab Company in Elizabethton until he sold it in 1997. He was preceded in death by his wife, Hallie Carden; a son, Herman Carden, and two brothers, George and Bill Carden. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dana Earl and Marie Carden, Elizabethton; a daughter and son-in-law, Maggie and Alex Teglar, of High Point, N.C.; a brother, Lloyd Carden, Elizabethton; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a special friend, Cordia Nave, and several nieces and nephews. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. CARDEN -- Funeral services for Clyde Allen Carden, 90, 203 B. South Hills Drive, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, May 13, 2003, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, May 15, 2003 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Jack Roddy officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2003 in the Nave Cemetery. The Carden family will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Friday will be Ernest Carden, Howard Carden, E.A. Bowers, Luther Bowers, Eugene Moore, Bryan Carden, Chris Richardson and Michael Richardson. Honorary pallbearers will be Pat "Red" Bowers, Mack Meredith, Clarence Perry, and Dallas Walker, and former drivers of the Yellow Cab Company. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a son and daughter-in-law, Dana Earl and Marie Carden, 418 Wilbur Dam Road, Elizabethton, or the residence of Cordia Nave, 403 A South Lane Court, Elizabethton.
