CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Lillian B. Carden, 26 Jul 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Lillian B. Carden Lillian B. Carden, age 88, of Hampton, died Saturday, July 26, 2003 at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Mrs. Carden was the daughter of William Oscar Harris and Bertie Sims Glover. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl Leslie Carden; three brothers, Jim Glover, Pete Harris, and Cecil Harris, and her step- father, Frank L. Glover. She is survived by three daughters, Barbara S. Bond, of Alexandria, Va.; Priscilla Richardson and son-in-law, Chuck Richardson, of Johnson City, and Nancy Hopson and son-in-law, Victor W. Hopson, of Johnson City; one brother, Charles Glover and sister-in-law, Blanch; three sisters, Agnes Blackburn and brother-in-law, Stuart; Mary Moody and Edna Cole, all of Elizabethton; two sisters-in-law, Lela Carden, of Elizabethton, and Joann Pearce, of Hampton; seven grandchildren, Theresa Dixon and Gail Austin, of Alexandria, Va.; Carolyn Baxter, of Raleigh, N.C.; Keli Carpenter, of Beltsville, Md.; Taylor and Tammy Richardson, of Elizabethton, and Victoria Hopson, of Johnson City, and 10 great grandchildren. Several nieces, nephews, loving friends and neighbors also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. CARDEN -- A memorial service for Lillian B. Carden, age 88, of Hampton, who died Saturday, July 26, 2003, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2003 at Valley Forge United Methodist Church with the Rev. Paul Humphrey officiating. Music will be provided by Tammy Simerly, soloist, Judy Little, pianist, and Trilla Little, organist. The family will receive friends at the church from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Valley Forge United Methodist Church, the American Cancer Society, or Adventa Hospice of Elizabethton.
