CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Blannie Livingston Carden, 14 May 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Blannie Livingston Carden, 92, Life Care Center of Elizabethton, formerly of Elizabethton, went to be with the Lord Friday, May 14, 2004, following an extended illness. Mrs. Carden was a native of Carter County and a member of Watauga Valley Free Will Baptist Church. She was a daughter of the late George P. and Susan Estep Livingston and was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Roy A. Carden, in 2000, three brothers, Erwin, Alfred and Luther Livingston, and two sisters, Bernice White and Clara Richardson. Mrs. Carden was formerly employed by Magnavox and Bemberg Corporation. Survivors include one sister, Nancy Caroline Madden, and one sister- in-law, Mary Evelyn Arnold, both of Elizabethton. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, May 16, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with the Rev. Clate Briggs and the Rev. Elmer Carter officiating. Music will be under the direction of Marie Parlier and Sherry Richardson. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, prior to the funeral service. Friends may also call at the residence, 539 Hwy. 91, Elizabethton, any time. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, May 17, at Garland Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be L.D. Livingston, Stacey Carden, James Bowers, Dallas Carrier, Leonard Arnold, Wayne Nidiffer and Lemmie Estep. Honorary pallbearers will be Elmer Carden and the Staff of Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Monday.
