CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Roy Wallace Carden, 17 Dec 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Roy W. Carden ALBANY, Ga. -- Roy Wallace Carden, 80, of Poulan, died Friday, December 17, 2004, at his residence. Mr. Carden was born April 10, 1924 in Hampton, Tenn. (Carter County), to the late Otho Carden and Molly Carnett Carden. Mr. Carden served in the U.S. Air Force for more than 21 years, retiring on February 1, 1971. During his service in the Air Force, he worked as an aerial photographer and did photo-mapping. He was also a member of the Catapillar Club. He enjoyed genealogy, and writing about his family, researching military history and airplanes, and at one time, even owned his own plane. Survivors include his ex-wife, Saiko Hamano Tucker; two daughters and sons-in-law, Heidi and Harold William "Bill" Farnsworth III and Romy and Frank Tucker, all of Albany; a brother, Carl Carden, Abingdon, Va.; and two grandchildren, Bryttany Farnsworth and Gage Tucker, both of Albany. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, December 29, at Hall & Hall Funeral Home, 324 S. Mock Road, Albany, Ga., with full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 p.m. until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to East Tennessee State University, Carroll Reece Museum, Box 70660, Johnson City, TN 37614. Hall & Hall Funeral Home, 324 S.
