Carson 1/14/00 Mrs. Effie Hardin Carson, 87, 1115 West "G" Street, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, January 12, 2000, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Carson was a lifelong resident of Carter County and a daughter of the late Charlie and Maggie Williams Hardin. She was also preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Mrs. Carson was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. Survivors include her husband, Reagan Carson, of the home; a stepdaughter, Sue English, Knoxville; and a stepson, Bob Carson, Blountville. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Hathaway-Percy CARSON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Effie Hardin Carson, 87, 1115 West "G" Street, Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, will be held at 8 p.m. Friday at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with Dr. John Martin officiating. Committal services and entombment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Mausoleum of Hope, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be C.L. Greer, Jim English, Steve Carson, Mark English, Clark English and Sam English. Honorary pallbearers will be employees of Summers-Taylor Construction of Elizabethton and Morristown. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 8 p.m. Friday, prior to the service.
