CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Wanda L. Caldwell, 26 Mar 2005 ----¤¤¤---- Wanda L. Caldwell went to her heavenly home on Saturday, March 26, 2005, where she was met by Jesus. Along beside him stood the love of her life, her husband, Thomas William "Bill" Caldwell; her parents, Anderson and Katie Richardson; two brothers, Billy Boy and Frank; and two sisters, Leslie and Charlotte. Wanda was born June 6, 1935. She was a native of Carter County and a former member of Moore's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church where she played the piano, sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. Wanda loved Jesus and loved to serve Him. She taught her children that the love of Jesus was for everyone and to sing praises to him. Wanda also played and sang with several gospel groups and no doubt, she is singing now. Wanda left behind many who loved her dearly. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Tommy and Connie Caldwell; four daughters and two sons-in- law, Kathy and David Gilliam, Joyce and Rick Richardson, Marie Lovins and Brenda Caldwell; and one granddaughter, Mary Carrier, whom she raised. In addition she is survived by 12 grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in- law, Grayson and Betty Jean Richardson; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Betty and J. B. Woods, Kathleen Wilson; her mother-in-law, Madge Caldwell; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews with a special note: "I love you all." The funeral service for Mrs. Caldwell will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday, March 28, 2005, in the Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. James Richardson officiating. Music will be provided by Mary Carrier, Tiffany Colbaugh, and Matthew Gragg at the piano. The graveside service and interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005, in Richardson Cemetery with the Rev. James Richardson officiating. Music at the graveside will be provided by Matthew Gragg and Mary Carrier. The family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Monday prior to the service or at other times at the home of her son, Tommy Caldwell, 190 Edgewater Road, Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be Daniel and Mark Perry, Matthew and Ben Gragg, Kevin Caldwell, David Cable and Mike Fritts. Honorary pallbearers will be Merle Nidiffer, J.B. Woods, Bradley Carrier, Rick Richardson, David Gilliam, Gerome Ford, Dr. Daniel Murick, David Gragg, Johnny McCarty, Boyd Coffey, Gary Triplett, Barry Triplett, Dean Shoemaker and Dr. Cook. A special thank you is extended to the members of Maple Grove Baptist Church, Globe Baptist Church, Pearce's Chapel, Roan Highlands Nursing Center and staff, the Carter County Rescue Squad, The Medicine Shoppe of Elizabethton, Johnson City Medical Center Hospital, Cannon Memorial Hospital and to all family members who helped in the love and care that you gave to our Mom and Nanny.
