Mr. Casey was a native of Carter County and a son of the late Ernest and Margaret Henry Casey. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Mr. Casey had lived in Flint, Mich., for a number of years before returning to Hampton. He was a retired employee of General Motors, Flint, Mich., and attended the Free Will Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Survivors include his wife, Eva Hyder Casey; a son, Paul Casey, of the home; and four sisters, Violet Price, Watauga, Hazel Fair, Elizabethton, Joyce Lybrand, Waggoner, S.C., and Marion Moody, Sebring, Fla. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. CASEY — Funeral services for John Casey, 121 Stone Mountain Road, Hampton, who died Thursday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. B.F. McKinney Jr. officiating. The Limestone Cove Quartet will provide the music. Graveside services and interment will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Sunday, will be Richard Hyder, Roger Fair, Randy Fair, Russell Lindsey, Clyde Frederick and Blaine Hyder. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of his brother-in-law, Leonard Hyder, 5938 Highway 19E, Hampton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. Sunday to go to the cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
