Caudill ELIZABETHTON -- Julian Terrell "Terry" Caudill, 59, 121 South Pine St., died Tuesday morning in the Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mr. Caudill was a native of Palatka, Fla., a 1961 graduate of Elizabethton High School and a 1968 graduate of East Tennessee State University with a B.S. degree in art. Mr. Caudill was an Episcopalian and attended St. John's Episcopal Church. He was employed by the Bristol Tennessee School System as an art teacher at Holston View and Fairmount Elementary Schools. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam conflict and had been awarded the Bronze Star, the Good Conduct Medal, the Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Nations Defense Service Medal . He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans of America Chaper 824. Mr. Caudill was active in Tri-Cities theater groups for many years. He was an artist and had his paintings and drawings displayed at several local art shows. He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Stout Caudill of the home; two daughters, Casey Caudill Ross of San Diego and Caroline Caudill Clark of Elizabethton; his parents, Julian and Altajane Holden Caudill of Elizabethton; one sister, Carolyn Caudill Hazelwood of Knoxville; a brother, Tommy Caudill of Kingstowne, Va.; and several nieces and nephews also survive. The Burial Office and Holy Communion will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of St. John's Episcopal Church with The Rev. Frank M. Cooper, IV, Ph.D. and The Rev. Margaret K. Zellar officiating. Active pallbearers will be Brian Ross, Mike Clark, Dayton Stout, Ron Stout, Sonny "Bill" Mottern, Sam Shipley, Edwin Alexander and Ronnie McCloud. Interment will follow in Happy Valley Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday in the Narthex of the church from 1 p.m. until the service hour. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in memory of Mr. Caudill to the St. John's Episcopal Church, 500 North Roan St., Johnson City, TN 37601 or the American Liver Foundation, 5583 Murray Road, Suite 205, Memphis, TN 38119. Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton is in charge of the arrangements.
