Chambers Mrs. Bonnie Birchfield Chambers, 90, of Pine Ridge Care Center, Elizabethton, formerly of Courtyard Apartments, died Thursday, August 2, 2001, at Pine Ridge Care Center. Mrs. Chambers was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late John and Martha Stanley Birchfield. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Nathan Chambers, a son, J.B. Chambers, and a granddaughter, Patty Murphy. Mrs. Chambers was a Free Will Baptist. Survivors include six daughters and four sons-in-law, Eva Arnett, Martha Cady and Barbara and Earl Lacey, all of Elizabethton, Volena and Harless Woodby, Hampton, Goldie and Ray Davis, Unicoi, and Judy and Don Smith, Johnson City; a son and daughter-in-law, Nathan Chambers Jr. and Brenda Chambers, Hampton; a brother, Burnie Birchfield, Elizabethton; 19 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Carolyn Sue Bradford, and her husband, Perry Bradford; and her special friends, Tassie Hall, Maude Smith and Marie Pippin. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. CHAMBERS -- Funeral services for Mrs. Bonnie Birchfield Chambers, 90, of Pine Ridge Care Center, Elizabethton, formerly of Courtyard Apartments, who died Thursday, August 2, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, August 4, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Burleson and the Rev. Tommy Largent officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 9 a.m. Sunday, August 5, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Sunday, will be Jamey Tolley, Al Garden, Earl Lacey, Bill Chambers, Bud Blevins and Jim Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Lannie Perkins, DeWayne Ledford, Jason Lacey, Jerry Hardin and James Chambers. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. Sunday to go to the cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
