CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - David R. "T" Chambers, 21 Dec 2003 ----¤¤¤---- David R. "T" Chambers, 86, Sally Cove Creek Road, Hampton, died Sunday, December 21, 2003 in the Johnson City Medical Center. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late John Donald and Julie Ann Carver Chambers. He was a retired carpenter. He had served in the United States Navy. He was a member of the American Legion. Mr. Chambers was preceded in death by four brothers. He attended the Simerly Creek Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Beulah Dean Phillips Chambers; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Harold Chambers, Hampton, and Donnie and Teresa Chambers, Hampton; three daughters and one son-in-law, Helen Jenkins, Elizabethton; Teresia and John Bailey, of Erwin, and Evelyn Chambers, of the home; four grandchildren, Donna Ranshaw and her husband, Travis; Heather Anderson and her husband, Andy; Jason Chambers and Daniel Chambers; one brother, Raymond Chambers, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2003 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dexter Brummitt officiating. Graveside services and interment will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 24, 2003 in the Chambers Family Cemetery. The Sally Cove Creek Church Duo will provide the music. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday will be Ed Simerly, Johnny Mack Chambers, Eddie Stockton, Robert Chambers, Ed Chambers, Carroll Phillips and Bobby Glen Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be Carmon Dugger, Richard Street, Ronald Street, Harold Street, Conley Carver, Omer Carver, Albert Simerly, Willie Church, Albert Ellison and Phil Jenkins. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence.
