Clark 03/22/99 Lt. Walter Appleton Clark, 87, died Wednesday, March 10, 1999, in Charlottesville, Va. Mr. Clark was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Charles Burton and Dolly McClain Clark. He was also preceded in death by a son, Edwin Hunter Clark, three brothers, Bill, Horace and Charles Burton Clark, and a sister, Irene. Mr. Clark received a B.A. degree from East Tennessee State University. He was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, served in the Navy Reserves and was a businessman. Survivors include his wife, Freda Lea Crox Clark; two sons, Bill and K.C.; and three sisters, Theresa Brumit, Burnice C. Furches and Marguerite Davis, as well as numerous relatives.
