Clark William Ray Clark, 84, 1768 Southside Road, Elizabethton, died Monday, July 2, 2001, at his residence following an extended illness. Mr. Clark was a native of Carter County and the son of the late James Frank and Maggie Treadway Clark. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Glenna Ruth Clark Harpe; a step-son, Harold Boyd; a brother-in-law, Bill Forbes; a sister, Helen Clark Lewis; a sister-in-law, Ruth Clark; and a brother, Ralph E. Clark. Mr. Clark was a member of Elizabethton Church of Christ and was retired from Beaunit Corporation after 35 years of service in the machine shop. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Dashiell Masonic Lodge #238 F&AM, a York Rite Mason, a charter member of the Jericho Shrine Temple, a member of the Elizabethton Shrine Club, a member of the Woodman of the World for 63 years, and a member of the Elizabethton Senior Citizens. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Boyd Clark, of the home; three sons, Joe F. Clark, Elizabethton, Lawrence R. Clark, Denver, Colo., and Bobby G. Clark, Johnson City, several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; a brother, John R. Clark, Elizabethton; three sisters and two brothers-in- law, Edith Forbes, Johnson City, Alta and Carmen Smith, Elizabethton, Dorothy Clark Webb and Melvin Webb, Phoenix Ariz.; a brother-in-law, G.W. Lewis, Johnson City; a sister-in-law, Alma Clark, Johnson City; a step- daughter-in-law, Emma Jean Boyd, Houston, Texas; and a step-daughter and step-son-in-law, Carol Ann Boyd Stephens and Tom Stephens, Johnson City. Music will be under the direction of Singers of Elizabethton Church of Christ. Interment will follow the service at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Larry Forbes, Dickey Clark, Allen Jarrett, Tony Mottern, John R. Clark Jr. and David Dugger. Honorary pallbearers and special friends will be Carl Burrough, Bob Collins, Clarence Perry, David Dugger, Steve Sargent, Bill Jennings, all friends and neighbors, the Elizabethton Police Department, special thanks to Chief Roger Deal and all other members of the Elizabethton Police Department.
