Clark Mrs. Ruby Million Clark, 96, formerly of 2020 Southside Road, Elizabethton, died Saturday, January 26, 2002, at Life Care Center of Elizabethton. Mrs. Clark was the daughter of the late William Tuggle Million and Claudia Holmes Million. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Clark, and a grandson, Michael J. Clark. Mrs. Clark was a retired school teacher who taught in the Carter County School System for 37 years. She was a 4-H Club leader while teaching and after retiring was a volunteer leader. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association and a member of Big Springs Church of Christ, serving as pianist, Sunday School and Bible study teacher. She was a charter member of the Ladies Sunshine Circle of the church and held the office of president for seven years, and later served as secretary, reporter and treasurer. Survivors include a son, Col. (Ret.) Jack T. Clark and his wife Gisela, Williamsburg, Va.; grandson and family, LTC Stephen A. Clark and his wife Cynthia, great-granddaughters, Shelby and Sydney, Herndon, Va.; daughter and son-in-law, Jewel and Frank Rankin, White Pine; grandson and family, Andrew C. Sonner and his wife Melissa, great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Alex, Maryville, and numerous other family members. She was the daughter of the late William Tuggle Million and Claudia Holmes Million of Limestone, TN. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Thomas A. Clark, and her grandson, Michael J. Clark. Mrs. Clark was a retired school teacher who taught in the Carter County School System for 37 years. She was an outstanding 4-H Club leader while teaching and after retiring was a volunteer leader. Many youth of the county owe their success in 4-H Club to her. She was a member of the Retired Teachers Association. For all of her life, she was a dedicated member of the Big Springs Church of Christ, serving as pianist, Sunday School and Bible study teacher. She was a charter member of the Ladies Sunshine Circle of the church and held the office of president for seven years, and later served as secretary, reporter and treasurer. The funeral service for Mrs. Clark will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2002, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. Terry Lyons, minister, officiating. Music will be provided by several members of the Big Springs Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Stephen Clark, Andrew Sonner, Jamie Clark, Mark Clark, Lewis Heaton and James Clark. Honorary pallbearers will be the Board of Big Springs Church of Christ and the Ladies of the Sunshine Circle. The family will receive friends in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the funeral service.
