A Carter County native, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Delia Birchfield Clawson. She was preceded in death by one brother, Ray Clawson. She was a member of Centerview Church of Christ. Mrs. Clawson was a homemaker. Survivors include two daughters, Edith Guy and Connie Henson, both of the home; one aunt, Gladys Birchfield, Elizabethton; two uncles, Ray Birchfield and Luther Birchfield, both of Elizabethton; one sister-in-law, Cleo Clawson Henson, Butler; two nephews, Mark Clawson and Danny Clawson, both of Butler; three nieces, Lisha Hartley, Beverly Trivette, and a special niece, Mary Clawson, all of Butler; and three special cousins, Nellie Kent, Frankie Flannery, and Pauline Irick, all of Elizabethton. Tetrick Funeral Home, 423-542-2232, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.Com/Tetrick CLAWSON -- Funeral services for Margie Clawson, 71, 119 Loveless Road, Elizabethton, who died Friday, Jan. 26, 2001, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 29, 2001, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Mr. David Irick, minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Frankie Flannery, The Golden Memories and the singers of the Centerview Church of Christ. Interment will follow at Walnut Mountain Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Wayne Ward, James Clawson, Marvin Clawson, Jr., Mark Clawson, Ronnie Kent, Charlie Phillips, Bobby Whaley, Jr. and Timothy Hartley. Honorary pallbearers will be doctors and nursing staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 28, 2001, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, or at the residence, 119 Loveless Road, Elizabethton, any time.
