Mrs. Coffman was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late John Hobert and Thelma Jones Dunn. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd William "Jack" Coffman. Mrs. Coffman had operated the Southern Restaurant in Elizabethton for 47 years. She was a member of the East Side Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Charles David Coffman and Joe S. Coffman, both of Elizabethton; a daughter, Nancy Coffman Norton, Bristol; a brother, Charlie Dunn, Roan Mountain; and four grandchildren, Gloria and Nathan Coffman, both of Elizabethton, and Charlie and Michael Norton, both of Bristol. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. COFFMAN -- Funeral services for Mrs. Dorothy Dunn Coffman, 71, 914 Fairview Street, Elizabethton, who died Friday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday at East Side Baptist Church with Dr. Dwight Hobbs officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the church at 7:50 p.m. Sunday and also at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Monday, will be the deacons of East Side Baptist Church. Honorary pallbearers will be the employees of Southern Restaurant and her many customers through the years. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at East Side Baptist Church. Friends may also call at the residence of a son, Joe S. Coffman, 817 Riverview Drive, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 2:30 p.m. Monday to go to the cemetery. To those who prefer, memorials may be made in memory of Mrs. Coffman to the East Side Baptist Church. Mrs. Coffman will be moved to the church at 2 p.m. Sunday. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
