Mr. Colbaugh was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Fred and Mary Smith Colbaugh. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Frances Shirley Colbaugh, two daughters, Mary Sue Nidiffer and Barbara Colbaugh, and a son, Glen Colbaugh. Mr. Colbaugh was a member of Borderview Christian Church and a former Sunday School Teacher, former Deacon and former Assistant Sunday School Director. He was a World War II Veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Mr. Colbaugh retired from Bemberg Corporation after 36 years of service, and was also retired from North American Rayon Corporation after five years of service. He was a Carter County Commissioner for eight years. Survivors include a son, Billy Joe Colbaugh, Elizabethton; a stepdaughter, Geraldine Hampton, Elizabethton; a grandson, Billy Joe Colbaugh Jr., Elizabethton; a great-granddaughter, Holly Nicole Colbaugh, Elizabethton; a stepgranddaughter, Julie Vaughn; three great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, James Fred Colbaugh, Herman Lee Colbaugh and Albert "Gene" Colbaugh, all of Elizabethton; and a sister, Selma Marie Parlier, Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, (423) 543-4917, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick COLBAUGH -- Funeral services for Harry Colbaugh, 85, 176 Rainbow Circle, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, November 23, 2000, were conducted at 7 p.m. Saturday, November 25, in the Autumn Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home with the Rev. Darrell Holly officiating. Music was under the direction of Scott Reynolds. Graveside services and interment will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, November 26, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Rick Colbaugh, Grant Colbaugh, Jim Colbaugh, Doug Colbaugh, Justin Colbaugh and Danny Carrier. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Bristol Nursing Home, Lawrence Holly, Lawrence Hodge, Billy Jack Renfro, Clyde King, Jerry Weaver and Ted Weaver. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 1:45 p.m. Sunday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family received friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
