CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Nat Colbaugh, 10 Jun 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Nat Colbaugh Nat Colbaugh, age 79, Creek Bank Road, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the Johnson City Medical Center Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late Charlie and Ella Frances Aldridge Colbaugh. He attended Willow Springs Baptist Church. Mr. Colbaugh was retired from civil service. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served in World War II. He was a member of American Legion Watauga Post #49, Capt. Lynn H. Folsom V.F.W. Post #2166, Boumi Temple Masonic Lodge, Baltimore, Md., and Jericho Shriner's Temple. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Bill Colbaugh, and one sister, Edith Feathers. Survivors include his wife of the home, Lula Colbaugh; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Margaret and Ola Bowers, Elizabethton; Ella J. Medfaris, Elizabethton, and Betty and Howard Markland, of Mich. Several other nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. COLBAUGH -- The funeral service for Nat Colbaugh, age 79, who died Tuesday, June 10, 2003, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 12, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home Chapel of Peace with Rev. Mark Street and Mr. Doug Rasnick officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Military honors to be accorded by Capt. Lynn H. Folsom V.F.W. Post #2166. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Renfro, Fred Deloach, and Bill Pack. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 11, 2003 at Tetrick Funeral Home, or friends may call at the residence any time. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Mr. Colbaugh to Shriner's Hospitals for Children, Jericho Temple, P.O. Box 5548, Kingsport, TN 37663.
